oh great sopping wet aubergines!

odeletta fell in the river! odeletta fell in the river! 

she was riding on the back of debbie duck in the middle of the river in our garden while mummy took photos of her and everything was going really really well. i was watching the whole thing from my safe place on the ladders but then there was this giant gust of wind and it blew odeletta into the river. 

i was so very very scared and i called and i called and i called for mummy to go and rescue odeletta but I think mummy was just as scared as me because she just stood there taking photos. disappearing aubergines! odeletta could have drowned and all mummy could think about was taking photos.

but then odeletta surfaced and was able to swim back to debbie duck and was safe again. brave odeletta (which is more than i can say for mummy). it did give me ever such a big fright. 

odeletta was ever so muddy and wet. mummy took her inside and washed her in the sink and then dried her with a nice big fluffy towel. poor odeletta. she looked overcome with horror. i’ve never seen such big eyes. 

i’m going to be especially nice to her this evening. odeletta is one very brave little owl.
